The holidays are probably a reminder of how embarrassing your older relatives can be. But at least they aren't this embarrassing: a 47-year-old man was recently arrested after police found him drunk and high on prescription pills, dancing in the middle of the street.

The incident happened around 6 p.m. Saturday in College Station. Police officers noticed the man's Ford F-150 pickup truck by the side of the road in the 2200 block of Emerald Parkway. When they pulled up, they found him dancing nearby.

Reportedly, the man told the officers that he had drunk 10 beers so far that day. As officers were arresting him, they found some pills on his person. The pills are commonly used to treat anxiety and nervousness, but they were not prescribed to the man.

The man has now been charged with public intoxication, a misdemeanor, and Class A possession of a controlled substance, which is also a misdemeanor. He could be made to pay up to $4,500 in fines and could have to spend a year in jail if he is found guilty of both offenses.

The man was later freed from Brazos County Jail after posting $2,000 bail.

When you are out partying over the holidays, please be careful and take it easy. We know it is not easy to socialize with Great Aunt Eunice or babysit your 14 small cousins, but you really must be careful about how much alcohol you consume.
